Has anyone read The Shack by William P. Young? I started the book yesterday and am over half way through it. It is an amazing story.
To quote a review, "THE SHAck is the most absorbing work of fiction I've read in many years. My wife an I laughed, cried, and repented of our own lack of faith along the way. THE SHACK will leave you craving for the presense of God.

Put this on your reading list immediately. You wil never be the same.
Just finished it yesterday. You will love the rest of it! It's an amazing book.
Just before reading that, I read Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. A totally different kind of book, but another awesome read. Really made me think. Good stuff!!
Thanks for the reading recommendation. I will put it on my list.
Yesterday, I ended up balling my eyes out after reading the Here comes the Judge chapter in The Shack. I gleaned so much from it. I was so inpired to look inside myself to see where I have judged others. I cried some more.
I can't wait to finish the book, which should be today. I just may end up reading parts of it over again.
HI Kristen , I am reading Blue like Jazz too !!! am loving it. Also another good one is "Soul Cravngs" by Erwin McMannus. Hes written a few other books as well and I want to read them too ! The Shack sounds amazing.. guess I have to go to the book store !
Hi Patsy, I don't think we've met, but I read The Shack a few months ago. Wow! Lots to think about. I love the way you get to see the different sides of the Trinity and how they love each other and relate to each other and to Mack. The book creates a love and a hunger to know God better, to trust His heart toward us, and to enjoy Him more. I'm always afraid to say too much about the details b/c I don't want to give anything away:) I would tell you to slow down and savor the last half of the book, but you've probably finished by now!
Hi Rhonda, thanks for the input.
I finished the book last night and Wow!
You are so right about slowing down to savor, but of course I couldn't wait to get to the next line. So I will be reading the last half again and again. I actually started underlining and writing comments on the side of the pages. Here's to freedom from independence!
I've not read it but will have to look into it. I wrote my own inspirational book...I think of it more as a daily motivational book. I find that people crave for tiny pushes (motivation/inspiration) almost on a daily basis. There are many that need to be reached in a secular manner. So the stories (Biblical or religious) can be told in ways that draw people into that presence in a non-threatening way. It helps them and fulfills the void that they might be missing.
A recent book my wife and I read was "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson. I found it a great source that many would find helpful. So cheers and 'keep on the sunny side of life' even when times are tough.
Thanks Joseph
You sre so right about people needing to be met at their place. I know that is what Jesus did for me.
I write also. Sometimes its in my journal, Sometimes I will write a few inspirational lines or sometimes a poem pops out.
I know you will thouroughly enjoy The Shack. Pop me a line when you finish it.
