- About Me:
- I have been at C3 since I moved to Atlanta in 1999. I currently work at Georgia Gwinnett College as an Instructional Designer, which means that I (*hopefully!*) help faculty members do a better job teaching.
Teaching the Word of God is my passion. There is nothing that thrills me more than seeing people grab hold of the promises of God for their lives and applying them to daily life. It's both humbling and awe-inspiring to be part of that process! Check out my blog postings below for "Bible Moments", where each week I share a new insight or challenge that I've received.
I love hanging with friends, watching movies, sports, music, and travel.

"You Can't Handle the Truth!"
Last night I heard the voice of God… Yes, the very voice of God calling down from heaven… In His best Jack Nicholson saying, “You can’t handle the truth!” Then God laughed!

One of Those Days
You know those days when you just feel lousy? Those days when you’re in a bad mood and you don’t even know why? Those days when your weaknesses and inadequacies echo loudly down the halls of your soul? To make things worse, you begin to feel guilty about your bad attitude, driving the already waning self-esteem and self-confidence down even lower – way past that red “danger zone” marking. A Solid Foundation
Jesus instructs us to build our house upon the rock, where the storms of life won’t tear it down (Matt 7:24-27). Peter tells us in 1 Peter 4:12 not to be surprised at the painful trials we are suffering under, “as though something strange were happening to you”. We read about the refining fire of God and the testing of our hearts. Storms – trials – fire … none of that sounds too inviting does it?

Walking Worthy - Peace
Paul entreats us in Ephesians to "live a life worthy of the calling [we] have received" (Eph 4:1). He then proceeds to give us a few pointers as to what that includes:
humble and gentle (vs 2)
patient (vs 2)
bearing with each other in love (vs 2)
doing our part to maintain unity through peace (vs 3)

Jan Overton said… - Got the CO on Tuesday! And have been moving in this week, but keeping my home office functional for work. Rick's taking care of the phone system and network setup tonight and this weekend, and I'll move my little office setup, files, etc. in beginning tomorrow. Hope to be (nearly!) fully functional on Monday!! Can't believe it - so exciting!! You can come by any time during the week.... or call/text if you are out and about over the weekend.
