About Me:
I am a mother of three girls, and when I married Troy, God made some of the deepest and quietest desires of my heart come true. We have been attending C3ATL for 10 years, since before Ingles! We visited one time and never left. We have been on the journey of a lifetime, and often, I feel embarrassed when talking to people outside of our church because our life is so amazing and blessed by being a part of this church family!
Where am I connected at the C3 Church:
PreTribe, RAMP, KidzTribe, Menu, Everywoman, MOPS...everywhere

Thank you Scott Calman for this amazing photo!

Mother's Day-my thoughts exactly

I ran across this blog and thought I couldn't have said it better myself...

The real Mother's Day is yet to come

by Barbara Rainey

My first memories of Mother's Day are sitting in church as a child as the
minister recognized all the mothers. I remember them standing in
recognition of their day. I also remember them all wearing a corsage.
The ones whose mother's were no longer living always wore white flowers
and the mostly younger moms wore a red or pink corsage. It was a tradition
in that ge… Continue

My kitchen table

My kitchen table is the one place in my house I can manage to keep clean fairly regularly. It wipes down easily and even if it means I have just moved the dirty dishes from the table to the side of the sink, at least my table is clean. The whole rest of my house may be in total disarray, but I can look at my kitchen table and be happy that at least that part is tidy.

Isn't that how a lot of life is like? We have one area that we feel pretty good about ourselves in, socially, physically, financi… Continue

I can't wait to be a mom...the irony

Riley, my 6 1/2 year old, said to me the other day, "I can't wait to be a mom!" I was feeling pretty proud of the example I've led for her at that moment and said, "Why honey?" And she said, "Because then I get to do whatever I want!" There goes the sweet moment.

I haven't been able to get the irony of that comment out of my head though...when you are a mom, you get to do whatever you want. Really? She said that as I was driving the three of them to the pool, and while some might think that's a… Continue

How we shape our kids

So here's something I've been thinking about...our kids are a reflection of us...the good...and the bad. How do we prevent the bad stuff from getting on them? I've made a conscious effort to not put my "bad stuff" on my girls...insecurities, lack of self-confidence, negativity, etc. I know my girls will have their own "stuff" to deal with that they don't need my help putting them behind the eight ball.

For example, if I am feeling extraordinarily "unhealthy" (we avoid the word "fat" b/c there i… Continue

Suwanee bound no more

We are no longer in the pursuit of Suwanee. We found out last night that the owner of our potential new house can no longer wait on us to sell our house and he is going to stay there until he dies apparently. His words, "I won't be around longer than 20 years." He's 65. Kind of morbid.

After the initial shock wore off, we arrived a place of total peace knowing that God's ways are higher than our own and He only wants the very best for us. We may never know why we went on this month-long journey… Continue
