About this group...

This group is for anyone that has ever enjoyed "Classic Rock and Roll".
I will not define what classic rock is, but let each of you define that for yourself.
I am knowledgeable about the era between the late 1960s to the late 1970s. If your favorites predate this era - by all means - your 're welcome here.
If you are a bit younger and think 33rpm records were invented so that DJs could make make that grating sound with them, you're still welcome here. But, stay away from my records.

In my opinion, Pink Floyd is the greatest band of all times!

Derwin, ... Wayward Son is a great song. I think it is hard to pick only one... there are so many different flavors of Rock and Roll. When I am running, I think 25 or 6 to 4 is great. On a road-trip, something long like "Shine on you crazy diamond" or "Thick as a Brick" is good. So many good ones to choose from.
Feel free to start a discussion (or pick back up an old one) on this.

How about some ideas for the best classic rock song ever? There are many but is there one that stands above the rest? I would have to say "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas. The music is incredible. I have to blast it every time I hear it played on the radio.

Check out the current trivia question everyone.
If no one gets it right, I'll post the answer next weekend.

I drove a 440 - 4 barrell Matador (It would catch air from time to time) Lived in Macon,GA and every Sunday afternoon there was a free concert at Central City Park - The Alman Brothers would often appear and every once and a while Cher would be there. The artist that did the front of the "Eat a Peach" album did the back drop for our senior lead out. Eli was the band at our senior lead out as they were just getting started. Macon was the place to live for Rock and roll during those years.

Billy, my '62 Galaxie 5 was black with black vinyl interior. In Richmond during the summer, it was brutal. Straight 6, 3 on the tree with nothing else! But I sure remember some long drives with the 8-track cranked as far as it would go. We used to miss-align the heads and let the guys in the back seat hear 2 songs at once - crazy huh.

Hey Mark, Boy do I feel dumb. Barbara got this one right off the bat. Just to hint a little more - Sir Reginald Kenneth Dwight. I wont say more until someone else gets it. :-)
