C3 Church

Hi friends,

I was just made aware of the "To Write Love On Her Arms" movement. I've read up about it, and would like to support the cause. It is basically to spread awareness about depression, suicide, addiction & self-injury.

There is going to be an event at the Community Grounds Coffee Shop here in Atlanta on Friday, November 21st at 8pm.

The website says this:
"Conversation: Pain, Hope, Questions and Community.
Talk by TWLOHA founder Jamie Tworkowski
Q&A to follow.
Music by Josh Moore"

Since many of us are reading/studying "UnChristian" I think this would be a GREAT opportunity to show the world that we as true disciples of Christ really DO have compassion and care about going into the dark places and helping people. By showing up we would be saying, "we want to help, tell us how we can love these people who are desperate." I think we would be able to ask questions and come away with awareness about what is going on in this generation.

Let's get a group together and go!! I don't think this will be the most cheery event, but I think it is important to go beyond ourselves and see what others are experiencing. Who wants to go???

This was a great event!! I so enjoyed the "conversation" struck up by those who have been moved or affected by people who have experienced depression, self-injury, or addiction. What a perspective!! Thanks for getting this together!!! ;)
