Once you click the icon for image uploads (that is next to the hyperlink) ou can either upload a picture from your local drive using the first field (click browse) or enter the url of the image location in the second field. To get an image url, you right click on it, select properties and copy the address. I just tried it with this and it worked: http://static.anifreak.com/images/chibis/narutofan.jpg....
If you are entering a valid url but the image isn't coming in, it may not be there anymore. Let me know if you have further issues.
If you send a photo to the site via the email address provided in your profile settings, how long does it take before it is displayed on your page and where exactly does it show up? Does it get displayed in your blog, or do you have to retrieve it from your inbox?
Great question :) I will tell you that the email delivery speed is hard to predict - it speeds up or slows down depending on how busy the site and the ning servers are. Some are instant and some have taken as long as a day.
I assume that the photo will show up on your profile page somewhere - I haven't tried it yet. The ning forum is pretty vague on the subject:
"When you join a network on Ning, a unique email address is assigned to your profile on that network. You can email photos or videos, one at a time, to this email address and they will be added to your account on the network."
They may show up in your ning inbox (at the top left of the screen) - I will do some deeper digging in the developer forums and try to find out more.
If you find out the answer faster than I do, please post what you find out - I am sure others will have the same question :)
Hmmmmmmmm.....I will try to look into it. This platform still has some bugs in it (I am finding out from the developers forum) and the documentation on what you asked is pretty vague. I will try to find out what is going on...
Is there a way to adjust the settings for forum discussion replies so that the latest reply appears at the top of the comments list instead of descending to the bottom?
A weird thing I've noticed is, every few days some of the "Latest Activity" updates on my page will disappear. The comments are still there, but the updates at the top of my page are gone. It seems like it is usually 3 or 4 at a time. But when I go to other people's pages, all of their updates are there.
